1983 I started bicycle racing and fell in love with the sport. In 1986, I ventured to Italy to pursue my dream of becoming a professional cyclist. The cycling camp was incredible. An ex-pro cyclist trained me, and I learned how to race and ride properly.
In 1989, I went to Belgium to see what the Mystique was all about. The racing was plentiful there, but being lost all the time and eating inadequate meals made racing harder than it should have been. After the tour was over, I left for Italy. I found this area in northern Tuscany, which I consider the mecca of cycling. I've never found a place like this in my cycling trips to Italy, Belgium, Austria, Costa Rica, Israel, and England.
In 1997, I returned to Tuscany to race. Since then, I've been racing and training there. I now live there and offer custom cycling tours to people who share my passion.
I started bicycle racing in 1983 and fell in love with it immediately. I pursued it to the extreme, wanting to be a European pro cyclist. I believe I gave it my all, racing in various European countries and a few North American and South American countries. I wouldn't trade any of my racing experiences for the alternative.
This area of northern Tuscany is, I believe, the mecca of cycling during the summer. Along the sea, riders train from dawn until sunset over Montemarcello. We warm up on the flats of Alungomare, then head inland to tackle the day's climbs, which vary from 3 km to 27 km. Our lusual ay is 80 to 100 km.
