The daily rate for the program is 275€ per person. This includes three daily meals, two bottles of Gatorade or Powerade, and a protein bar on each ride. Transfer from Pisa airport or the train station from which you are coming from
The Program: Here at Toscana Velosport, breakfast begins at 8 am. After 8 am, at 9 am, we go for a 3 to 4-hour ride, which consists of at least one climb. The rides are usually 55 - 65 miles per day. I guide the rides. I will bring you back to the hotel, where you will be served lunch around 1 pm.
After 1 pm Lunch, you can go to the beach 100 meters away or walk into town a few hundred meters away to soak up the ambiance of the Italian lifestyle. Dinner is served around 7 pm. You will enjoy excellent Italian culinary skills at each meal.
Toscana Velo Sport gives you the convenience of coming and going on your schedule. I think it's better to have a base and go out from there instead of unpacking and packing up the following day to go from one place to another. I have done this racing. You have to wake up earlier make sure you have everything, I'm pretty sure you will be missing something after a week of packing and unpacking Here you arrive, decompress, unpack and relax there is no set amount of time you can come for I do recommend 7 days minimum, if not more.
The Rides begin with us riding along the Mediterranean Sea to warm up. The roads are very nice in most areas, but some are choppy. From the sea, we head inland into the mountains, where we will see breathtaking views.
I do not have a set schedule for the clients to follow. I believe in listening to how they feel the day after. The rides usually are 50 miles long and consist of at least one climb.
The climbs are, on average, 5 km; other climbs are 9 km. 17 km and a couple that is 27 km in length. Some of the climbs are a bit steep. The grades are mostly 6%-8%. Then, climbs will result in a short spurt of 12% - 21% grades.
The gearing I would recommend is 53x39 -12-25,28 or 30. 50x34 -11-28,30. Do not be embarrassed if you aren't a decent climber and have a triple crankset. If it works for you, then use it. If you have any questions, feel free to as
The roads here are more or less in good condition. Some areas of the roads are very choppy, to give a nice term to it. The climbs up are pretty good roads unless they are working on them. The descents are the same. I will explain the curves or switchbacks on the descents, whether sharp or wide turns. Do not worry about the cars on the way down or up; they are courteous to the cyclists. The cars will pass you when they have an opening.
The guide is me. You do not need to worry about being lost. I know this area quite well. I am one of the locals here. I know the roads perfectly, so I can tell you what to expect.
As a mechanic, I worked at various bike shops in Italy. If you have a problem with your bike, I can probably fix it on the road, such as flat tires, gear skipping, etc. If not, I know where all the bike shops are in this area. We can cruise into one of them without figuring out where they are. The fou
If you do not want to bring your bicycle, my sponsor shop, Cicli Maggi, rents top-of-the-line carbon bicycles for an additional cost. You must give 2 weeks' notice to reserve a bike.
